Besides the resources already suggested, another resource you might try if
you need to purchase a specific title is the Louis Database of Accessible
Materials for People Who are Blind or Visually Impaired, housed at the
American Printing House for the Blind (APH). It contains information about
more than 145,000 titles of accessible materials, including braille, large
print, cassette, and computer files from over 200 agencies throughout the
United States. You can access Louis through the Internet or by phone. To
find the database through the Internet, go to http://www.aph.org/louis.htm.
(The general web address for APH is http://www.aph.org) You can search by
ISBN, keyword, title, author, and subject and limit the search by format
and publication year. If you do not have access to the Internet, you can
call, e-mail, or fax the information to be searched. The result of the
search is a list of agencies that produce that title, and the format of the
work. The major disadvantage with the Louis database is that after you get
the list you must call each listed agency to determine the cost of the
material and the time necessary to reproduce the material (most braille and
large print books are produced on demand). (FYI: Items produced by the APH
will have prices listed.) if more than one agency is listed, it is usually
worth the time to call each one, as there can be a significant difference
in cost.

Another non-profit organization that produces braille books is Braille
International, Inc. (www.brailleintl.org/) The braille books for sale were
originally produced in braille for NLS and include approximately 1,000
childrens and adult fiction and nonfiction titles.
