Request of PENPALS

Dear LM Netters,
Do any of you have fifth grade teachers who would be willing to work with me
on a penpal project?  My fifth graders are getting ready to begin a science
study of the different biomes: tundra, taiga, deciduous forest, grasslands,
desert, rain forest.  They will research these biomes in groups, prepare a
presentation and present their findings to the class.  After learning about
these, I would like for them to write to a penpal in several of these areas
so they can communicate about the differences in their daily lives.  Also,
two of the classes just finished reading Dear Mr. Henshaw, so they will love
the idea of a penpal.

If anyone has any candidates, please contact me.  I would like to assign my
students to students representing many of the biomes, not just one location
so if you have just a few students who would be interested, that's fine.
I'm open for any one who will participate.
I have 55  fifth graders.  Two of them speak and write only in Spanish, two
of them in Spanish and English, the rest only in English.
