Soooo - -
What are you doing with your first graders this week? Share with me and I
will post a hit.....

I am reading snow stories, and giving a little information about each book
before I read it. I'm reading the Snowy Day (Keats) and talking about
collages and the Caldecott award. Then The Mitten (Brett), mentioning the
characteristics of Folktales and showing an older version (Tressalt).
Finally I read Thomas's Snowsuit (Munsch) with much exaggeration and the
children chime in with Thomas's NOOOOOOO. Whatever adults in the room crack
up when we read it....

which is why I love my job!
