Hi all. Happy New Year. I have been teaching for 20 years and am currently a grade 5 teacher (been in 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades too). My district has 3 elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. The middle and elementary schools share ONE librarian, so the job is purely clerical at this point and does not involve teaching any classes. I am working toward my MLS. I have a question that I am curious about. How much work do you bring home to do at night and on the weekends? And what types of activities do you do at home? Is anyone responsible for grading/assessing students in any manner? Finally, do you feel that that will become part of your job in the future? This is a personal question so please respond to me directly, unless you feel this is a topic which all will be interested in (I'm a newbie here.) I am pretty swamped with work so I'm not sure if or when I could post a HIT, but I am willing to do so if there is enough interest in the responses.
