One temporary solution to the DVD dilemma: our new iMacs all have DVD. At least 2 are available at each grade level while 3 grade levels have a DVD iMac in each classroom. If DVD's start showing up that are appropriate for school, the teacher can connect with a single cable to another TV or our videoprojector for the entire class to view. Or they can put on the headphones (which I still need to order and need a good source) and view the DVD in relative privacy. On a humorous note, my Televisions at home are so ancient that I cannot connect a DVD player or the new Playstation2 so my own children are viewing DVD movies on the iMac whenever possible. The only problem is the intense amount of use our iMac receives and trying to find time to use a $950 machine for movie-viewing.
