Colleagues:

Yesterday I asked your opinion about the career materials from The
Institute for Research. They were offering 100 titles for $274.50, and I
was concerned about the quality. I heard from three of you, and one of
those three asked for a hit. Here's what I found out:

"I have not seen them--but I have a huge career collection (I am a 9-12
library) and there are much better things out there, including
Fergusons'CD-ROM program. Good Luck"

"They really are a great resource. They are pamphlets, 25-30 pages, well-done
and provide basic information about a career as well as interviews with people
actually working in the field. They have been around for a long time."

From these two responses, it seems that they are not widely used, although
the one person who does use them likes them. I think I'll hold off on
ordering them for a bit yet, and see what else I have to choose from.

Thanks for your help.
