this is my first request for help from the List serve, I hope I do this =
right. I have an 8th grade student who has a 6th grade reading level. =
She needs to read an 19th century book. I suggested a Christmas Carol =
by Charles Dickens. Her teacher says this is unacceptable, he says this =
is a long "short story" and not a novel. Is he right? Can I make an =
argument for the student to read this book? Or, do you have another =
suggestion of a book that she can handle and that he will accept
