TARGET: SEC:Oprah Books

Hi everyone!  I would like opinions from those of you who receive the
Oprah books - I get them sent to me from my Intermediate School District
media center who receives them from ALA.  I'm in my first year as a
media specialist and am not sure about putting some of them on the
shelves for my high school students due to the sexual content included
in some.  Specifically, I have reservations about Open House, While I
was Gone, A Map of the World, and The House of Sand and Fog.  My
district does not have a formal selection policy (I know, that's next
year's project) and I don't want to open myself up to a lot of
challenges but we also have no book budget to speak of this year and I
would love to get some new fiction titles in the collection.  I tend to
be a conservative person so maybe I'm worried for nothing but I would
like to hear what others are doing with the Oprah books.  By the way, I
have read the books in question.  Thanks for any help!
