Target: Preschool and computers

I'm at a Vocational/Technical school and my Early Childhood Education
instructor would like some help...

Has anyone seen and can point me in the right direction for research about
computer use by very young (3 and under) children?  She and an Advisory
member are at odds.  The Instructor feels that real play with real people in
much more beneficial and that computer time should wait.

Anyone know of anything to support her position?
