I am a librarian at a new middle school and am having a bit of trouble getting teachers to be willing to collaboratively plan and teach. The teachers in our school, grades 5 - 8, came from many different schools in the system, and they had had a variety of experiences with librarians in the past. I would also like any suggestions you might have as to how to increase the circulation. Teachers seem to feel that coming to the library is a "privilege," and they don't let the students use the passes freely. We are on a flexible schedule, but I don't feel that we make the best use of it. The teachers' (above grade 5) say that they barely have time to cover their mandated material. There's no time to come to the library. Thanks for your input. Beth Howard, Librarian Donelson Middle School bethhow2@yahoo.com --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!?
