Well... at the time that I left teaching (5th grade) and switched to school libraries, NJ had dropped the word "library" from the certification. My certification is as a School Media Specialist. However the courses that made up the certification were most definitely about the schools. I only had one 'media' course, where we learned about the different types of media equipment: 16mm projectors, 35mm filmstrip projectors, both manual and auto advance, 8mm film loop projectors, and a few new fangled devices... TV, video cameras and vcrs. <grin>.
