There are ways to embed malicious code within a regular email. It doesn't have to be a 'virus attachment'. Take a look at the descriptions for Bubbleboy in the various antivirus sites.=20 If there was an attachment with the message, LM_NET would not have distributed it. Viruses have=20 > to be downloaded to 'infect' a computer. They usually have a=20 > file suffix of .scr and sometimes .exe. Hence the name - "virus". My=20 > thought on what the message was? Personally, I think the=20 > sender sent it to some people she knew and accidently sent it=20 > to LM_NET. Who knows. Anyway - just keep in mind that if=20 > you get a mail message and you open it to read the text and=20 > there is another program that you have to open or click on,=20 > don't - THAT is the virus. Always remember - viruses come as=20 > attachments to text messages - NOT the actual text message itself. >=20 > Krista Fersch > Young Adult Librarian > Indian River County Main Library > Vero Beach, Florida > >=20 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
