Dear LM_Net members, Going to NEA convention in Los Angeles then up to visit son doing research in the mountains outside of Fresno. We will have two long travel days - up to Fresno and back to Los Angeles to catch a 1:05 a.m. plane. We are considering a direct ride (highway 5 to Bakersfield - spend the night - then a leisurely ride up to Fresno (where we'll meet our son in the early evening and go on to cabin in the mountains) and on the way back highway 41 to the coast and then meandering down to los angeles airport to catch our plane. (Or we could do this vice versa). Questions: (# 1 is the most important so we can figure out a time line). 1) Highway 41 - we know the mileage of this trip but what about the lenght of the ride? Is this a slow go? 2) Any recommendations of things we should not miss on either of these routes? 3) My husband will be attending the convention. I will be exploring the Los Angelos area during the day. Any travel advice on this? Thanks for any information.
