Old books are still enjoyed

Yesterday a little girl in first grade came to me with her book, one of our
old Dolch books.  She told me that she loved those books and was very
excited about finding it.  After that several other children checked out
Dolch books.

In this time of proration in Alabama when the school systems were given
permission by the state to keep the library enhancement money instead of
giving it to the individual schools, I am really happy that the older books
are still enjoyed by students.  This is why I really evaluate how a book may
be used before weeding it, especially if it is still in good condition.
