Here's my original post: I was wondering whether there was a video(s) available (in print) on the Caldecott and Newbery awards. I know that many of the individual books have been made into videos but I'm looking for an overview/explanation of the two awards geared for elementary aged children. The two could be combined on one video or one for each award - it doesn't matter. ---------------------- No one responded - does that count as a hit? ;-) except other people interested in finding out if any videos exist! One person let me know that Scholastic has a free video for Coretta Scott King Award. I contacted ALSC and asked them if one existed, and suggested that if it didn't they might want to consider having one made. Here's ALSC's reply: ---------------------------- Dear Ms. Lesser: As you guessed, ALA/ALSC does not have a Newbery/Caldecott video. Thanks for the great suggestion. I will pass it along, though I think that the high costs of professional video production and studio time would probably be prohibitive.
