A few days ago I posted a message about a video called The Story of Books. Published by Meridian, it features a girl and a muppet-like puppet called Androgena to talk about the history of books, from cave painting to hieroglyphics to paper-making to book publishing. It ends with "The Reading Rap".It is exactly what I was looking for, and my students love it. A number of people wrote and asked me where they could purchase it. (guess I should have anticipated that!) I borrowed my copy from our county center. The Story of Books can be purchased for $89 from Tracy Wall at Universal. Her number is 1-800-977-0704. Her e-mail is swall@leading.net . Universal is a video distributor of educational tapes. There are two more stories in the Androgena series: What is a Media Center, and Research It - Madam Know It All and the Media Center. The entire set can be purchased for $239. Hope this helps you, Karen DeFrank Dorothy L. Bullock Elementary School Glassboro, NJ 08028-2024 kdefrank@glassboro.12.nj.us PS - Go, Tina!
