Hi Folks, This will be a short update. I don't want to overburden the list and I don't want these updates to turn into spam. Unless things take a new turn, they will be coming no more frequently than once a week. For those of you who have visited the Filtering Follies at the OII web site, it should come as no big surprise that Not Blocking Boobs.com is out front with the lead for the first Filtering Follies award with 25 votes. Puppy Love and the AKC is in second with 18 votes. Shoe Laces and Filter Fetish has 13 votes and Classroom Disconnect with 12 votes. Bringing up the rear is Sex and the Fraternal Order of Police with 6 votes. (Sorry, about the puns.) Your reports of overblocking will supply the next set of Filtering Follies candidates as long as you keep the cards and letters coming in to http://oii.org/html/overblocking.html Thanks to all of you who have done so. Finally, while my investigation and reporting has been subjective and not scientific, Rich Tramontana has taken a much more academic look at the situation and presented a paper of the topic, for a graduate class at Stockton College. He has given me permission to post it at the OII web site. He provides us with another perspective of this filtering elephant. You can find it at http://oii.org/html/tram.html Take care, Art ====================================== Art Wolinsky awolinsky@oii.org ====================================== I am perfectly capable of learning from my mistakes. I will surely learn a great deal today. ====================================== =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
