Talk about surfing the web! Reading Patrick Crispen's issue of Tourbus: http://www.TOURBUS.com I followed the link to the David Thornburg Center http://www.tcpd.org/ and from there to the following link: http://www.convergemag.com/columns.shtm When you get to this page, click on the second article down in the left column to read a wonderful "analysis" of standardized testing. Before a thread of anti- remarks starts, realize that this article IS parody, and is not meant to put down specific individuals. Nor am I -- but as a former Chem teacher who had difficulty covering the material BEFORE the days of standardized testing, I wonder how they do it now with all the class time used up for testing. -- Joyce Conklin, San Mateo UHSD librarian (ret) San Mateo CA bkwoman@pacbell.net Macintosh 8600 OS 8.6 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
