Call for Papers for School Libraries Worldwide

The international refereed journal School Libraries Worldwide is issued =
twice yearly in January and July by IASL, the International Association of =
School Librarianship. The Editorial Board of School Libraries Worldwide =
recently decided to change the focus of the journal, from a focus on =
theme-related articles to a focus on current research. School Libraries =
Worldwide, beginning in the year 2002, will focus on publishing original =
research on any and all topics pertaining directly but not exclusively to =
school libraries around the world. Authors are invited to contact the =
Editor about submitting articles for the first of the 2002 issues, on =
or=20
before December 1, 2001.

The shift in the focus of the journal has been made possible because of =
the success of another IASL initiative , the International Forum on =
Research in School Librarianship. These initiatives, along with the =
Association's research award program, reflect the increasing interest in =
and support of research within the Association and within school librarians=
hip generally.

School Libraries Worldwide is made possible by the support of the =
International Association of School Librarianship and by the work of its =
Editorial Board members. The current members of the Editorial Board of =
School Libraries Worldwide are: Dianne Oberg (Editor, Canada), Anna =
Altmann (Associate Editor, Canada), Julie Tallman (Associate Editor, USA), =
Takako Akaboshi (Japan), Taghreed Alqudsi-Ghabra (Kuwait), Marlene Asselin =

Mozuraite (Lithuania), Judy O'Connell (Australia), Snunith Shoham =

Bernhard (Canada), Mel=20
Rainey (Fiji), Norma Jeffrey (Australia), Jocelyn Mete (Vanuatu), Yap =
Foong Mui (Singapore), Diljit Singh (Malaysia), and Pierre Overduin (South =
Africa). Editorial Board members develop the policies of the journal, =
review articles submitted for publication, and on occasion develop a Theme =
section for the journal, consisting of three or four related articles on a =
topic of particular interest to the readers of School Libraries Worldwide.

Libraries Online website at http://www.iasl-slo.org/ Papers are selected =
