Netters: This week's issue of "The Mini Page" (a supplement insert for children in many local newspapers) features "The Great Seal of the U.S." and all 50 of the state seals with the date the states joined the union, with their state mottos. It's a colorful, interesting way for kids to learn more about our national and state symbols. On page two is a short history of the seal and a picture of the REVERSE side of the seal (I didn't know there was one, did you?!). The reverse side is very familiar - it's the pyramid with the eye that is also featured on our dollar bill. Next week's feature will be "National Children's Book Week." :) :) :) "The Mini Page" is published by Universal Press Syndicate. If your local paper doesn't include it, you might contact the editor and ask them to consider doing so. It's a great way to encourage kids to read something in the newspaper besides the comics . . . ! (Disclaimer: No, I don't work for the Mini Page or the syndicate, or the newspaper! I just think "The Mini Page" is a great FREE resource!)
