In the last week we have had 10 books leave with students who left "suddenly". @:^{ arrrrg. Cost of the book will be well over $150 to replace. These students all so owed for meals, lost text books, etc. Does anyone have a good idea of how to keep this from happening? Our school board has resisted charging a book rental fee so that is out. Does anyone require a deposit when students are enrolled? My thought is that a small deposit fee at enrollment might help. Families that are leaving might take the trouble to find and return books if they would get some money back for it. How is you school dealing with this problem? I will post a hit if I get some good ideas.
