Printing problems: pictures from the Web

Our students are printing pictures from the Web more and more for
assignments.  We keep getting "memory full" errors on our printers -
Lexmark Optra Rs.  In order to solve this problem, will it help if...

- we add more memory to the printers?
- we get some kind of software to print from besides MS Word which is such
a large file to begin with?
