One of our English teachers is working on an analysis of Poe and the detective story (he invented them) for a graduate course. I have already found the following books: Detecting Texts: the Metaphysical Detective Story from Poe to Postmodernism Merivale, P. U of Penn Press, 1999 The Technique of the Mystery Story, Wells, C. Home Correspondence School, 1929. The Mystery to a Solution. Irwin, J.T. Johns Hopkins UP, 1994 We have looked in the Gale Research database and done some cursory searching on the internet. Perhaps some of you mystery/detective buffs have some special knowledge of websites or information on this topic that could be useful. If so, please share. She's a good library user. I'll post a hit.
