I am in the process of getting approximately 100 sound recordings (music cd's) cataloged and into our system. I am slightly baffled with how to classify sound recordings. I have examined other collections, and some libraries use the standard Dewey system (780's) while other libraries use a combination of letters and numbers. A few examples of this are: CD EC MOZA PCN S78 (this is a piano concerto by Mozart) CD F BEET QS J 68 Can anyone help in deciphering this? Any suggestions for a useful website in call number construction for sound recordings using the Dewey system? I will post a hit if there is enough interest. Thanks so much, Marina Branner Head Librarian St. Andrew's School 350 Noxontown Road Middletown, DE 19709 mbranner@standrews-de.org (302)285-4289 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
