This is an internal direction-- instead of double zero, we'll use one for
standard subdivisions of the United States.  The modification here affects
004:

Racial, ethnic, national groups

Add to 004 notation T5--03-T5--99 from Table 5, e.g., history and
civilization of North American native peoples in New York 974.700497

Mexican-Americans starts at Table 5:T5--68/7-T5--68/8

Citizens of independent and partly independent jurisdictions having a
Spanish-speaking majority or Spanish as an official language

Add to base number T5--68 notation T2--7-T2--8 from Table 2, e.g.,
Puerto-Ricans T5--687295, Chileans T5--6883 ; then add further as instructed
at beginning of Table 5, e.g., Chileans in United States T5--6883073 [Which
would bring us to Table Number: T2--72 Middle America/Mexico.  Since this is
about Mexican Americans, and not Mexicans in the United States, the number
is done!] ; however,

for comprehensive works on Spanish Americans in jurisdictions where they are
a minority, see T5--6804-T5--6809, e.g., Spanish Americans in United States
T5--68073 [Mexican Americans, 682].
