Sara: We've banned book bags in all classrooms, not just the library. One of the men in my class, a high school principal, said his school permits only clear or see-through bags. His official reason was school safety (can't have a bomb hidden in there), but the real reason was that the permitted bags are much smaller than the suitcases some kids were bringing in. He said that he actually had one boy zip himself into his book bag! Anyway, there was some initial moaning and groaning here, but most kids have accepted the "no book bag" rule. No if we could get rid of the slot machines (I mean pop machines).....
