literacy night

Colleagues,

    I will be presenting the "literature" part of a family literacy
night at our school in a couple of weeks.  Do you have any special
authors you would recommend for Pk, k, 1, or 2nd?    Also, what do you
think are the best points to make to parents about family reading?
(Besides read to your children)  Has anyone done a night like this?
