I am the librarian in a primary school (k-2). My principal wants us to do
more to prepare our students for the 4th Grade New York State English
Language Arts test. In the spring, she wants the reading specialist to push
in to my 2nd grade classes so we can teach note taking (using a graphic
organizer) while listening to a story, followed by writing activities
related to the notes.
I have done some of this as a whole class activity, but never tried it with
all students.
What have you tried that was good? What graphic organizers work best? Has
anyone used Kidspiration or Inspiration software?
