  Hyde School is now accepting applications for the position of Librarian
(part time, approx. 20 hours per week).

   The successful candidate will oversee the operation and management of the
school's library. (Complete list of responsibilities attached).  They will
also work with and supervise 1 or 2 part time assistants and students
volunteers.  Position available immediately.

   The library collection consists of approximately 6000 volumes, 6
newspapers and 47 periodical titles.  There is a small but growing video and
audio collection as well.  The library is fully automated with Winnebago
Spectrum (including the WEBCat program).  There are currently 4 internet and
OPAC ready computers with 2 or 3 more workstations to be added this school
year.  The library has also just acquired a multimedia presentation station
complete with its own CPU and 34 inch monitor and cordless keyboard.

   Hyde School is a private, coeducational and residential school that
serves grades 9-12. The school is located in mid-coast Maine on a 150-acre
campus.   Students at Hyde range in age from 14-20.  Hyde is a character
education school.  The five main principles at Hyde are Leadership, Courage,
Integrity, Concern and Curiosity.  There are 250 students and approximately
50 teaching faculty members at Hyde.  For more information about Hyde School

Qualifications: Applicants who are currently certified as a school library
media specialist and have experience working with young adults are highly
preferred.  An MLS from an ALA-accredited institution or MLS degree
candidate desired.  Successful candidate must be organized, detail-oriented,
very flexible and must thrive in providing service to faculty, staff, and
students.  Also preferred: compentency with various forms of technology and
knowledge of young adult literature.  Teaching experience highly desired.
