I would like to thank all that have responded to my posting. Please = continue to send me any more suggestions!=20 Here are some of the responses I received for the following post: I would like to showcase a bulletin board outside of my elementary LMC = entitled, "Author of the Month." I would like to know where I can order = posters of various children's authors that include a brief bio of the = author, a picture and pictures of their book jackets . I would prefer to = have a poster with all of this information as opposed to downloading the = stuff from the internet and searching for book jackets. Gina Powell Library Media Specialist Hidenwood Elementary School Newport News, Virginia=20 gina.powell@nn.K12.va.us **** If you have to do it the hard way, you scan the book covers into your = computer and print and laminate them. I couldn't get the local shop to photocopy = them in color because it was copyrighted material! Gail Conley Elem. School Libn. (between jobs) Pennington NJ cyberconley@aol.com **** Check with Scholastic - even at Scholastic.com. I believe they have an = author page. I noticed in the classroom they featured an author every = month in their book order "catalogs". Perhaps you could use - free of = charge - to get started. It always had a picture and information about = the featured book. It may not be exactly what you want, but it'll be a = start. Good luck! Holly Gillum, LMS Anderson Elementary Crossett, AR **** Upstart has a set of posters about writers, but no jacket photos. That = have nice photos though. Debbie Frankenberg, Librarian Purcell Intermediate School Purcell Junior High School Purcell, Oklahoma debbiefrankenberg@msn.com **** There is a series of poster books called Meet he Authors. This might be = what you want. **** It seems to me that Perma-Bound does a calendar that the sales = representatives give away that features an author a month, but these = would be small posters. Have you checked Demco and Highsmith and ALA = Graphics? ***** =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
