Since someone already brought up microfiche: at some point during the lesson, if you tie in microfiche and have access to a microfiche collection, you can locate an important article from history, copy it, and display for your students. Remember the famous picture of Rosa Parks(there's one person I'd love to meet) getting booked because she refused to sit in the back of the bus? You'd know the picture if you saw it, I promise you. I have made several copies of it over the years, because students are fascinated by her story, and then, of course, they want to read books(hooray!) about her.
