Try "A Handbook to Literature" by Thrall, Hibbert, and Holman. I don't think all names are still on it. My copy is 42 years old, but it uses the genre to refer to all forms - fiction, novel, short story, poetry, sonnet, etc. This is the standard reference work for literary definitions (or at least it was for many years if it isn't still).
