To All School Library Media & Network Communications Members: The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) is = interested in talking with public school librarians who have either = experienced efforts to restrict or limit access by students to = particular books or who have colleagues that have experienced such = censorship attempts. We are in the process of writing an article about = such efforts and their impact on both teaching and library practices. I would be happy to hear from anyone who has either experienced such = efforts on an individual basis (i.e., parental complaint about a = particular book) or group basis (i.e., a group of concerned parents or a = coalition opposed to a particular book in the public schools). I can = also provide you with a list of discussion questions in advance if that = would help facilitate an interview. (For those requesting anonymity, we = will be glad to consider such an option.) I can be reached through ASCD via my e-mail address (jfrankli@ascd.org). = Thank you in advance. Sincerely, John Franklin ASCD Staff Writer/Editor jfrankli@ascd.org =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
