Starting a new library position after the school year has begun

Hello LM_Net Folks,

I'm getting ready to start my first library position at an elementary
school after teaching special education at a middle school for 11
years.  I am currently working out my notice in the school system where
I teach special ed and will be moving sometime around mid-September.
Any suggestions on what to do when moving into a completely new
community after the school year has started?  Any suggestions will be
appreciated.
