Target: Patriotic book list

Hi.  I'm brand new to this listserv, and to my media specialist position,
so if this question has already been asked hundreds of times, please
accept my apologies.  My elementary school's guidance counselor asked me
for a list of books that she could purchase at the local Borders book
store in anticipation of the upcoming anniversary of 9-11.  She wants
books about heroes, patriotism and going above and beyond the call of
duty, but that have NO reference to Sept. 11.  The list should, however
include some books about police officers and fire fighters.  Any
suggestions?  Thank you in advance for your help.
