The December 2002 topic for Weed of the Month is: Drawing and
Cartooning.
Drawing and cartooning have been popular with students over the years.
Techniques may not have changed that much over those years but, in many
cases, the style of drawing and cartooning has changed along with
students. An old book (or AV title) on drawing or cartooning probably
hold little interest to today's student.
A brief explanation of Weed of the Month for new LM_NET members: The
SUNLINK Weed of the Month began in September, 1997, from an idea
by Mike Eisenberg co-owner of LM_NET, and as an effort to help provide
Florida's School Library Media Specialists with guidelines and
suggestions for weeding their collections a little at a time as well
as adding quality materials. A section of the collection is
identified each month during the school year (September through May)
as a weeding target.
