Employee recognition programs

Our district is looking at changing its [pathetic] employee recognition
program. Several years ago we had a 'Crystal Apple' sort of award, but one
year the person who received this was not at all worthy and the program was
stopped.

We are in need of ideas from different districts (and companies) as to what
they do. I am on the committee and said I would submit the question to
10,000 of my 'closest friends' for input. I would appreciate any and all
information you can share on what your district does.
