Talking Tapes has a copy at: http://www.talkingtapes.org/catalog/TTCat032-1.htm The catalog lists it alphabetically. The application and information for receiving the tape is located at: http://www.talkingtapes.org/TTGuidelns.htm I haven't used this resource before, but it looks like they're attempting to fill in the gaps with these types of resources. You might give them a shot. Depending upon what disability the student might have, you could see if you might be able to order it from a library for the blind and physically handicapped in your state--or the National Library Services for the Blind and Physically Handicapped at: http://www.loc.gov/nls However the process will take a while--applications, approval, etc. Other resources that have "Catcher in the Rye" are: Recordings for the Blind and Dyslexic http://www.rfbd.org/ (if the student has dyslexia) Taped Editions: http://www.tapededitions.com/ Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com (has a used copy available on cassette--you'll buy from an individual) Hope this helps some. ~Shonda Brisco Trinity Valley MS / US Librarian Fort Worth, TX sbrisco021@charter.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "Teri Padua" <tapadua@YAHOO.COM> To: <LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU> Sent: Thursday, December 05, 2002 9:03 AM Subject: Target: SEC: Catcher in the Rye audiobook > Hi to all from snowy Connecticut. > I have a special education teacher who wants Catcher in the Rye on audio.
