You may remember the fires passed through my garden last January.
This means I am relatively safe as there has been no build up of leaf
litter.
However the red glow in the sky last night from a fire about 10km
west was not reassuring.
I am relieving at a school in the north west of Sydney and we had
buses parked outside most of yesterday in case of evacuation. At
least one family in the school lost their home the night before and
others had close escapes. A number of teachers were away protecting
their homes. We do not usually get two severe fire seasons in a row.
And our leaders (US and Australia) refuse to support Greenhouse
reducing initiatives.
