Hellooooo from Southern New Jersey, blanketed under 7 inches of snow and experiencing our second day of NO SCHOOL - Hooray! The principal has announced that next year the computer teacher and I will not be a part of the "specials" schedule which allows the classroom teacher prep time. (They will have the contracted 100 required minutes thru gym, music, art and Spanish)(but since they are losing time they won't be happy) We have been discussing this between us and have no hesitations about finding lesson materials. HOWEVER I would like some advice from those of you who have moved from un-flexible scheduling to flexible scheduling. How do you do it? How do you convince the teachers that this is a new and wonderful thing and that it can really work? We are sure that we will never see some classes unless we schedule them some how, but that's not being flexible. By the way we have 32 classes of first, second and third grades. I have an aide for three hours a day. Thanks in advance for your help. I'll make a hit for anyone who asks.
