I also work in a high school library. In or not in inclement weather, students are welcome to come to the library for silent or group study. The Head Librarian and I supervise them. Because this is also a boarding school, when school is closed for "snow days," I try to get here to open it for the dorm students. My experience, through my children, is that the elementary and middle schools keep the students in the classroom under the teacher's supervision.
