My apologies for posting to the list, but I really don't know where to turn.

Does anyone have any info on those Internet Background check services one can
purchase so readily online?

Just what info does one get for one's 25 or 50 bucks? I tend to believe that
all of this is a scam, but I have a close friend who is very concerned about
a young man who has entered her teen daughter's life. He seems controlling,
and is filling her head with all these outlandish tales about trust funds in
the hundreds of thousands (he lives in rent subsidized housing, no car), and
other, even more crazy self-aggrandizing stories.

They have sat down and spoken with them, but he claims he "doesn't have to
prove anything to them." The girl, of course, believes all of it.
My friend is deeply worried, as the girl also gets frightened when she is not
allowed to jump whenever he calls. Many many red flags here, if you see what
I mean.

So, my friend hopes to get a report she can stick under the girl's nose
proving the boy is a manipulative liar.
