Has anyone ever compiled a list or just have knowledge of authors who are considered social critics? They can be from any time period or nationality. Here is a list I have from my research so far. If you care to add to the list or feel that a certain author does not belong on it, I would appreciate your suggestions. TIA for your help. Upton Sinclair Charles Dickens Jonathan Swift Henrik Ibsen John Priestly Leo Tolstoy Harriet Beecher Stowe Frank Herbert George Orwell Maya Angelou Charlotte Bronte Anton Chekhov Daniel Defoe William Golding John Hersey Ken Kesey James Baldwin Ray Bradbury Thomas Carlyle Mark Twain John Dos Passos Edward Forster John Galsworthy Robert Heinlein Lillian Hellman Sinclair Lewis Henry Miller J.D. Salinger Henry David Thoreau Kurt Vonnegut H.G. Wells Virginia Woolf John Steinbeck Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn Rachel Carson G.K. Chesterton Victor Hugo Lois Tabis Librarian, Sharpsville High School Sharpsville, PA tabis@adelphia.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
