GEN: Unsticking mousetrap glue

Hi,
        I have an unusual request. When I discovered an unwanted  "patron"
the custodians placed a sticky mousetrap in a storage area of the library.
We never caught the mouse, but I did manage to trap some empty plastic
videocassette containers. Any suggestions as to how to remove the glue?
I've tried soap and water and GooGone.
