Both my schools recently held a Scholastic Bookfair. Apparently, the PTA was a bit disappointed by the selection that was sent and also, the rep. didn't come over to the school (Scholastic is less than 10 min. away) until almost the end of the fair. When I saw the display in the intermediate school, I was shocked. Not only did they send one case that was totally age inappropriate, but the selection was very sparse. We were discussing other alternatives. Obviously, it seems that Scholastic has a monopoly on this now. I've been reading the comments about Read Street. Is this or is it not a part of Scholastic? Also, has anyone ever tried a bookfair from one of the book stores (ex. Barnes and Noble) with some kind of incentive? I'm sure alot of us would be interested in any suggestions.
