Hi everyone, A teacher's son needs help with an assignment: He is to identify the following quote and the event and/or circumstances in which the quote was stated: "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." He did an Internet search and identified that the quote is by John Quincy Adams, but he can not find the circumstances and/or event in which it was spoken. I have looked in our quotation sources (including a couple of books on political quotations) and some of our history sources (Annals of America). I also did a brief AltaVista search. I can confirm that it is from Adams, but although I can guess he was probably speaking about slavery, I can not find any information about the circumstances -- any help?
