Re: book tease

A few days ago someone wrote asking for advice  for writing book teases =
with 9th grade students.  I tried to reply to the sender, but my message =
was returned so I'll just send this to the list....

We had 5 classes of 7th grade students do book reviews last year.  The =
language arts teacher spent time with them looking at sample book reviews.
She gave them a specific rubric outlining her expectations and I think =
they produced some terrific reviews.  They typed their reviews into an =
html template that I prepared and then we scanned in the book jacket cover =
(probably not  a good practice in regard to copyright).  Anyway, you can =
take a look at ours by going to www.tvms.org and clicking on "TVMS Student =
Book Reviews."  The books are divided by genre, and clicking on a book =
jacket takes you to the review.
