Hispanic Athlete biographies

Good afternoon,

 I have a new middle school Spanish teacher who has assigned biographies of
very current famous Hispanic Americans for the 8th grade students.  I have
searched eLibrary, EBSCOhost, SIRS databases, Google, Yahoo and have not
found biographies.  Statistics for their athletic accomplishments or buy
items, very few biographical sites.  We did find one for Pedro Martinez  a
citation for Current Biography, June 2001, p. 69.  If anyone can email the
page, or help us find this info my students will be very grateful.  If
anyone has another suggestion for resources -- We also used Biography Today
and have found a few, but our subscription is only for this year.  Our
filter blocks the website for Biography today.  We are all getting
frustrated.  I learned of the assignment 1 week into the research because
our Tech coordinator clued me in wanting me to teach the teacher how to
access eLibrary.  I have not found much there.
We will be grateful for any assistance!
