There was a recent thread on EdTech about the change from free to charge and possible alternatives. Archives at http://www.h-net.msu.edu/~edweb, do a search for Quia. Some that were suggested http://school.discovery.com/quizcenter/quizcenter.html http://halfbakedsoftware.com/ http://Funbrain.com I think there was a recent thread on WWWEDU also (Archive at www.edwebproject.org/wwwedu.archive.html). Seemed to be down when I just checked though There also were some discussions about student privacy and registration issues a while ago. These were about many different services on-line. You might do well to have a thorough look (or your school attorney OK) on privacy policies before signing up. Info is at: http://www.homestead.com/PersonalSplash.ffhtml?TARGET=/~site/MainSplashe s/GetStartedLO.ffhtml I use their "Personal" version for our Media Center's web site and have found it very easy to work with. Cheap at less than a buck a week. She might find it worth the money in the sense that it won't be going out of business (knock on wood) so all their work won't be in vain. I used free sites previously, and got really frustrated when they went under and all my work was lost. Homestead lets you transfer existing Web pages into their site, so she won't lose anything. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
