Hello everyone - I am seeking experiences and stories from librarians regarding the actual disposal of materials that have been weeded. Does one need a disposal policy to avoid problems with perception, such as the San Francisco Public Library debacle? What are the best ways to dispose of various types of books and periodicals? Any favorite methods in addition to sales, giveaways, etc? Any information on disposal will be much appreciated.
